The Walt Disney Company is reportedly close to naming Thomas Mazloum chairman of its parks, cruises and consumer products division. According to a report by Bloomberg, Josh D’Amaro is close to selecting Mazloum as his successor to lead Disney Experiences.

According to Bloomberg, an announcement could come as soon as this week.

Mazloum has run Disneyland Resort since March 2025. Prior to that, early in his career, he ran Disney Cruise Line and held other senior roles at Walt Disney World in Orlando.

Josh D’Amaro is succeeding Bob Iger as Disney’s chief executive officer, as Iger steps down on March 18 at the company’s annual meeting.

Disney is committing $60 billion to expand its resorts division, a plan that includes nearly doubling its cruise fleet and introducing major additions like an Avatar-themed land at Disney California Adventure Park, Piston Peek National Park and Villains Land in the Magic Kingdom.

The segment employs more than 185,000 people worldwide and delivered nearly $10 billion in operating income last year — accounting for over half of the company’s total earnings.
