The Great Movie Ride may be gone from Disney’s Hollywood Studios, but Dream Vision Interiors brought it back to life inside the Golden Oak home of John Ruskai and Karen Hooper Ruskai.
Great Movie Ride Home Theater in Golden Oak Home
Dream Vision Interiors shared a video of the unique home theater. The video below showcases the entrance hall, which features a light-up marquee just like the one guests passed under during the ride.
The theater entrance archway resembles the Chinese Theatre facade. The ticket booth houses a mannequin inspired by the cinema scene from Spaceship Earth.
In display cases along the wall are Dorothy’s red slippers from The Wizard of Oz, Star Wars lightsaber hilts and a blaster, Mary Poppins’ umbrella and hat, and Indiana Jones’ hat, whip, and golden idol.
On the floor are handprints and autographs lining a red carpet. A retro Disney-MGM Studios rug is at the theater entrance.
Dream Vision Interiors will share a video of the theater interior later.
EPCOT Game Room Featuring Horizons
The company also created an EPCOT-themed game room for the same house. In here, you’ll see the Robot Butler from Horizons, as well as a bench inspired by the defunct attraction’s vehicles, where you can select different environments to display on a screen.
The spacey ceiling displays EPCOT logos around Spaceship Earth and a statue of Figment in his spacesuit.
