Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin at Disneyland has reopened after a month-long refurbishment, removing the manual guest-controlled spinning, plus a few other technical updates.

Updated Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin

The wheel in each taxi no longer shows spinning instructions but general safety instructions. The wheel itself does still spin so guests can pretend they’re driving, but this doesn’t control the car’s movement at all.

During the ride, the car properly spins only three times. It otherwise just turns to face different directions. However, we felt like our car was facing backwards for most of the ride, meaning we missed several big scenes.

Other than the spinning change, the ride received new colored LED lights in the fireworks crates, the Dipmobile was fixed up and is fully functional again, and the portable hole version of Roger was refreshed.

The tire props and two railings were removed from the exit queue to make room for ECV scooters. Stroller parking is now available in front of the attraction instead of in the nearby park space or outside Mickey’s Toontown.
