Michael Pennington, known to Star Wars fans as Moff Jerjerrod, has died. He was 82 years old.

Michael Pennington, known to Star Wars fans as Moff Jerjerrod, has died. He was 82 years old.

Pennington played Moff Jerjerrod (commander of the second Death Star) in Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi (1983). He also starred in Hamlet (1969), Fragile (2005), and The Iron Lady (2011).

According to Deadline, his passing was confirmed by British newspaper The Telegraph. The cause of death was not revealed.

Pennington was actual a celebrated theater actor during his decades-long career.
