Shanghai Disney Resort is celebrating its 10th anniversary this summer with new entertainment, exclusive merchandise, and limited time characters. Shanghai Disney officially opened on June 16, 2016, making it the twelfth and newest Disney Park in the world. The Walt Disney Company CEO, Josh D’Amaro, is in Shanghai this week for the festivities and we’re expecting some big announcements! The first of which being the official name for Shanghai Disney’s third hotel – Disney Enchanted Star Hotel.

The Disney Enchanted Star Hotel is expected to open in winter 2027 with 400 rooms on Wishing Star Lake with views of The Enchanted Storybook Castle at Shanghai Disneyland. The theming is inspired by “the fabled Wishing Star”, Shanghai’s distinct architecture, and 20th century Art Nouveau design. The Disney Enchanted Star will be a 5-star, Deluxe Resort and will feature character dining, indoor and outdoor recreation, plus water taxi transportation to Shanghai Disneyland.

There are also strong rumors of announcing a second Shanghai Disney Park as part of the $60 billion investment into Disney’s Experiences division. While Forbes reported the announcement possibly coming this week, It’s likely details will be announced in August at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in Anaheim.
