A floating platform with construction equipment has arrived at the ferryboat dock outside Magic Kingdom. The dock and queue will be extended alongside the addition of a fourth ferryboat, expanding capacity.
Ferryboat Dock Construction

Construction walls were installed a week ago but now extend down the side of the entire ferryboat queue, thinning the walkway. Temporary barriers are being used to divide the queue into entrance and exit lanes.

Over the walls, we could see a construction vehicle and tall poles. We got a better look after boarding a ferryboat.

The vehicle is on a floating platform, which adds space for construction equipment without closing more of the walkway. The large poles may help stabilize the platform.

Disney filed a permit for dock construction in February, and it was approved by the state’s water management district in March. This follows the 2021 addition of second-level ramps for quicker unloading of the boats. The fourth ferryboat, named after Meg Crofton, is under construction backstage.
