Crews have further developed the land at Disney World’s STOLport site for new Walt Disney Imagineering offices, which will support the construction of Piston Peak National Park and Disney Villains Land at Magic Kingdom.

Two weeks ago, we reported that the land had been cleared and some structures had been demolished.
Since then, crews have trenched land in the center of the site and started to install foundational elements. There is white PVC water piping and gray electrical conduit being buried and also sticking vertically out of the ground where two new office buildings will eventually be constructed.
Shipping containers, conduit, and other construction materials have joined the concrete drainage pipes and culverts staged at the edge of the site.
Above is a diagram of the project, which includes the two new buildings (dark gray) and new parking spaces from the August 2025 South Florida Water Management District-approved permit.
In addition to the buildings, the “Project K” permit approved by the South Florida Water Management District includes supportive infrastructure such as sidewalks, parking, and utilities. Two existing retention ponds will also be altered. It covers a 12.51-acre area of the STOLport site, the former Walt Disney World Airport off World Drive, near Magic Kingdom.
The STOLport site has frequently housed temporary Imagineering office trailers but these new buildings will be more permanent.
Construction at Magic Kingdom is expected to continue for several years as Piston Peak and Disney Villains Land are developed.
Piston Peak National Park and Disney Villains Land
Piston Peak National Park is not a new land but an expansion to Frontierland. It replaces the permanently closed Tom Sawyer Island and Rivers of America. The Cars-inspired area will take inspiration from National Parks, specifically the Rocky Mountains. It will include a river and other water features, as well as barrel bridges in homage to Tom Sawyer Island.
The area’s new original car character, Ranger J. Autobahn Woodlore, pays tribute to the classic Disney cartoon character Ranger J. Audubon Woodlore, who was mostly featured in shorts alongside Humphrey the Bear.
It will include two attractions: an off-road rally race ride featuring ride vehicles with different personalities and a family attraction. Details about the latter haven’t been announced.
Villains Land (official name TBA) will go behind Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Disney has not shared many details of the area but it will have two attractions, dining, and shopping. Concept art includes Maleficent’s castle and her dragon form.
A list of villains inspiring the land includes Maleficent, The Queen of Hearts, Jafar, the Evil Queen (and her Old Hag form), Lady Tremaine, Yzma, Cruella, Captain Hook, Gaston, Mother Gothel, Ursula, Hades, and Chernabog.
