After construction walls and rolling planters went up outside The Crystal Palace in Magic Kingdom, crews have started clearing plants from the area.

The planters and walls block an area that was previously just filled with shrubs. Though right at the edge of a sidewalk, the construction work does not affect walkways or the nearby bridge.

Plants have been removed from a swath of land right behind the planters. Just past this spot, the land slopes downward to a lagoon.

Disney has not announced what this work is for. It could possibly be an extension of the pavement, creating slightly more space for guests waiting for their dining reservation.
