We’ve got incredible news out of Disney’s Animal Kingdom! If you’re a big fan of seeing the incredible animals all over the park, especially on the Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail, then this news is about to make you book a ticket ASAP.
Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail
There’s a new member of the family in the park, and he’s already settling into his new home. His name is Bakari, he’s a male western lowland gorilla, and he’s ADORABLE.
Back in September 2025, the oldest gorilla at Animal Kingdom, Gino, unexpectedly passed away, leaving a space in the Gorilla Falls family. Now, Disney has introduced Bakari to the pack, and he’s making himself feel at home.

So far, there are no photos of Bakari with any of the other gorillas, and it’s possible that’s due to the fact that he’s still settling in. Just like we’re currently seeing with the kangaroos and wallabies over at Bluey’s Wild World, new animals often need ample time to adjust to their new settings inside Animal Kingdom.

Disney hasn’t revealed how old Bakari is or anything about his history at this time, but we’ll keep a close eye out for information and keep walking the trail to see how he’s doing.
