Official Disney Carvings

Disney fans and collectors will be the first to discover six all-new official Disney carvings, including the first-ever In Living Color Editions, debuting exclusively at D23.

Since 2017, Ron and John Daniels have been creating official Disney carvings from salvaged ancient Giant Sequoia Redwood, building a passionate following among Disney collectors through their distinctive craftsmanship and storytelling. This year’s D23 release marks their largest Disney collection launch to date.

Making their debut at D23 are three new additions to the Classic Disney Collection:

  • Winnie the Pooh
  • Stitch
  • Park Mickey

Joining them are three all-new Star Wars-inspired helmet carvings:

  • Darth Vader Helmet
  • Stormtrooper Helmet
  • Mandalorian Helmet

For the first time ever, collectors can choose select carvings in either Daniels Wood Land’s signature Natural Redwood finish or the new In Living Color Editions, created in collaboration with renowned Disney artist Craig Fraser. The In Living Color Editions celebrate the vibrant personalities of these beloved characters while preserving the warmth, texture, and authenticity of the original wood carvings.

Each sculpture is carved from reclaimed remnants of approximately 2,000-year-old Giant Sequoia Redwood, responsibly salvaged and transformed into heirloom-quality artwork by Disney Gallery Artists Ron and John Daniels.

“D23 has always been a place where Disney fans come together to celebrate incredible storytelling,” said Ron Daniels. “We’re excited to debut our biggest collection yet and introduce our first In Living Color Editions while continuing to honor the beauty and history of this remarkable wood.”

Collectors attending D23 are invited to visit the Daniels Wood Land booth to experience the new collection in person, meet Ron and John Daniels, hear the stories behind each carving, and have their purchases personally signed by the artists.

The artist signing will take place on Saturday, August 16 from 1:45 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. Meet Disney Gallery Artists Ron and John Daniels, ask questions about their creative process, and have your Daniels Wood Land purchases personally signed.

Can’t make it to D23? It won’t be long before these new carvings join Daniels Wood Land’s growing Disney collection available at select Disney Parks. Because each design is released in limited runs, collectors are encouraged to pick them up when they find them, as availability varies by location and many pieces sell out.
