Disney revealed details of the Coco ride coming to Disney California Adventure, including the story and concept art.
Coco Ride Story
The ride will pick up one year after the events of the film. Guests will enter a museum dedicated to the music of Héctor Rivera, Miguel’s great great grandfather.
On the attraction, guests will travel by boat through the story as Miguel looks back on his visit to the Land of the Dead. Guests will travel there via Miguel’s memory.
The ride will have no height requirement.
In honor of Día de los Muertos, D23 guests can write special memories on a card that will then be planted beneath a special tree at the Coco attraction.
Disney earlier revealed a maquette of the Héctor Rivera statue, which will stand in the Casa Museo de la Familia archway, as seen on the back of the Pavilion Collection T-shirt.
The statue will be amid the ride’s queue. The base, according to the maquette, will read “¡Su familia esa su mundo!” a.k.a. “His family was his world!”
The Casa Museo de la Familia (House Museum of the Family) will be in Pixar Pier next to Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind.
