Disney has announced the name of the show coming to the Glob Theater in Monstropolis at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Up until this point, Disney has not shared what will take over the former MuppetVision Theater.

Welcome to Monstropolis! With Sulley & Mike

The show is called Welcome to Monstropolis! With Sulley & Mike. In a first for Disney Parks, prolific musician and composer Randy Newman created an original song for the attraction. The track shares its title with the show itself, “Welcome to Monstropolis!”, which was previewed on stage during the D23 Experiences showcase.

Concept art for the show was also highlighted on stage, featuring Mike, Sulley, and several monsters from Monsters, Inc. and Monsters University as they appeared before a theater audience surrounded by musical accompaniments, flying door portals, and other character appearances across the theaters’ balcony seating.

Monstropolis

Monstropolis has taken over the former Muppets Courtyard, along with a new coaster show building being added on as an expansion to the park in what was formerly a backstage Cast Member parking lot. The door coaster will be Disney’s first-ever suspended coaster and first vertical lift coaster.

Mama Melrose’s will become Harryhausen’s, a restaurant visited by characters in the first Monsters, Inc. PizzeRizzo will likely be a new quick-service restaurant.
