Disney recently filed a permit for upcoming construction work on the Skyliner Station at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Permit Filed for Disney Skyliner

The permit grants the Buena Vista Construction Company the right to “provide labor, material, and/or electrical for construction.” The permit was filed on the morning of August 28, 2026, and expires one year from the filing date. The address is listed as 785 Studio Dr., the Disney Skyliner station located outside of Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
The Disney Skyliner will be closed for refurbishment from January 24, 2027, through January 30, 2027, so it’s possible this permit is being filed in anticipation of that closure, or it could be in service of unrelated work prior to next January’s refurbishment. Complimentary bus service will be available during the closure. Disney tends to close the Skyliner in January for maintenance and similar updates.

The Disney Skyliner is a complimentary transportation system at Walt Disney World. It’s a gondola lift system that opened in 2019. Comprised of five stations, the system services four resorts and two theme parks (Disney’s Hollywood Studios and EPCOT), with a fleet of over 250 gondola cabins that can hold up to 10 guests each, or up to six with an open wheelchair or electric scooter.
