After a record-breaking opening, Spider-Man: Brand New Day earned another $145 million domestically during its second weekend, making it the third-biggest second weekend of all time.

The biggest second weekends still belong to Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015) with $149 million and Avengers: Endgame (2019) with $147 million.
Brand New Day‘s opening weekend earned the film $355 million domestically (U.S. and Canada), just under the $357 million record of Avengers: Endgame. Brand New Day‘s worldwide total that first weekend was $927 million and it quickly surpassed $1 billion.
And the film had the largest preview gross in history, earning $72 million. Avengers: Endgame held the previous record: $60 million.
Brand New Day is officially the highest-grossing film of 2026 so far, currently sitting at a global total of about $1.665 billion.
The fourth film in Sony’s MCU Spider-Man series could become the first movie to ever reach $1 billion domestically and $3 billion globally. On Rotten Tomatoes, it has the highest audience score of any Spider-Man film.
The highest-grossing film domestically is The Force Awakens, which earned $936.6M in the U.S. and Canada. Avatar (2009) is still the biggest film worldwide, having earned $2.9 billion, followed by Avengers: Endgame with $2.7 billion. These numbers include re-releases.
