Josh D’Amaro recently shared his thoughts on how the Walt Disney Company is doing during his now almost six months of tenure as Disney CEO.

Josh D’Amaro succeeded Bob Iger as Disney CEO almost six months ago. During D23 this weekend, D’Amaro discussed with CNBC the success of the Walt Disney Company.

“I’m feeling really good, first of all, about the earnings call that we just had. You know, great revenue growth, earnings growth, 28%. The parks, I think, were a big surprise to people. And they just keep generating returns for the company, streaming and expanding margins.” D’Amaro said.

“We’re delivering on everything that we said we’re going to deliver on.” He continued. “I think there’s clarity inside of the organization in terms of where we need to go next. A lot of stability with the team. So, you know, almost six months in, I’m feeling pretty good about where we are.”

Since assuming the role as CEO, his immediate priority was sustaining momentum in Disney’s core growth areas, specifically its theme parks and streaming divisions. These areas have largely been a focus for investors, and in recent quarters, Disney has received a mixed reception from Wall Street.

“I’m not happy with where the stock stands right now,” D’Amaro said yesterday. “Our investors aren’t happy with that, but I do believe that we’re sitting in a very great space relative to the entertainment industry.”

D’Amaro also reaffirmed that he’s not interested in splitting off ESPN into its own company.
