Disney CEO Josh D’Amaro traded the executive stage for the convention floor during the first day of D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event.

Disney CEO Walks Among D23 Attendees

D’Amaro was spotted walking through the Anaheim Convention Center, where he stopped to shake hands and speak with attendees. Photos shared on his official Instagram account show him greeting guests both outside the convention center and throughout the event’s expansive show floor.

D’Amaro shared a few photos of his expo hall experience via his official Instagram account, saying:

We’re excited to welcome fans from around the world to #D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event this weekend. There’s nothing like seeing this community come together, and I’m thrilled to be celebrating what makes Disney so special with all of you. ✨

The appearance marks D’Amaro’s first D23 event since officially succeeding Bob Iger as CEO of The Walt Disney Company earlier this year. D’Amaro previously led Disney Experiences and regularly appeared at fan events, theme parks, and major presentations, including the Disney Experiences Showcase at D23.

The Walt Disney Company’s two previous CEOs—Bob Iger and Bob Chapek—typically only appeared during formal, scheduled appearances at D23 events, namely during major showcases covering Disney Parks, entertainment, and other headlining presentations.

D’Amaro’s opening-day walk therefore represents a notably casual and fan-facing appearance from Disney’s top executive, who has a long-running history of similar informal appearances and guest interactions at Disney Parks around the world.
