Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party will continue during most inclement weather, though rain, thunder, and lightning may affect several of its signature offerings.
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Weather Policy
According to a new page published in the My Disney Experience app, guests of this year’s Halloween Party should not expect the separately ticketed event to be canceled simply because rain is forecast for Magic Kingdom.
The weather policy page specifically notes that some attractions may temporarily stop operating during inclement weather, which typically entails conditions such as heavy rain or lightning in the area. Indoor attractions may offer guests a place to continue enjoying the party while a passing storm moves through Central Florida.
Outdoor entertainment is also subject to modification, delay, or cancellation. This includes Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade, Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular fireworks, and other performances presented outside. Disney’s ticket terms specify that entertainment may be canceled because of inclement weather and that refunds will not be issued solely because an entertainment offering does not take place.
Trick-or-treat trails are expected to remain available during inclement weather, allowing guests to continue collecting candy around Magic Kingdom.
This policy as described is pretty standard for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and other special ticketed events at Disney Parks. Though a rainy or stormy evening may substantially change the party experience, the event itself is rarely outright canceled – so all guests with tickets to a party night should plan on traveling to Magic Kingdom regardless of what the forecast says, and instead keep an eye strictly on operational updates from Disney.
This updates and policies page is partly intended to serve as a forewarning to any guests that refunds are not guaranteed in the event of inclement weather.
Guests attending primarily for the parade, fireworks, or outdoor stage shows should therefore keep an eye on the forecast and check the My Disney Experience app for updates throughout the night.

Full cancellations, while rare, have occurred when major storms threatened Walt Disney World. Disney canceled Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party ahead of Hurricane Helene in September 2024, with tickets refunded to affected guests. Another party was canceled ahead of Hurricane Milton the following month.
Again, Disney does not guarantee refunds in the event of inclement weather during a party night, but they have on rare occasion provided compensation when extreme rain disrupted the majority of an event. Following a heavily affected Disney After Hours Boo Bash event in 2021, guests received alternative admission and could request placement on another available event night.
One more time to be clear: such accommodations are not guaranteed under their standard ticket policy.
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party 2026 runs on select nights from August 7 through October 31. The event is held from 7 p.m. until midnight, with ticket holders permitted to enter Magic Kingdom beginning at 4 p.m.
