Disney announced an updated timeline for the launch of their new Disney Cruise Line ships, pushing ships 12 and 13 earlier.
Updated Disney Cruise Line Timeline
Disney Cruise Line announced back in 2024 that their fleet would expand to include 13 ships by 2031. That included the five ships already sailing — Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy, and Disney Wish — and the three ships that have since launched – Disney Treasure, Disney Destiny, and Disney Adventure.
Still on schedule to launch in 2027 is the Disney Believe, a fourth Wish-class ship (following the Wish, Treasure, and Destiny). Disney clarified in their Q3 FY26 shareholder letter that the Believe will launch late in the calendar year. A reveal of the Disney Believe will happen in October 2026.
The fifth Wish-class ship will be operated by Oriental Land Company, the owners and operators of Tokyo Disney Resort. Announced in 2024, it remains scheduled for a 2029 launch and will sail out of Japan.
Ships 11, 12, and 13 on the timeline are part of a new class of smaller ships, somewhere between the sizes of the Magic-class and Dream-class. Originally, Disney Cruise Line planned to launch ship 11 in 2029, followed by ship 12 in 2030, and ship 13 in 2031, rounding out the fleet.
Ship 12 has been moved forward to 2029. It’s scheduled for late in the calendar year, following the launch of ship 11 and the OLC ship, for a total of three that year.
Ship 13 has consequently been moved to 2030. Which means all 13 ships will be operating by the end of that year, assuming there are no schedule changes. The Disney Wish and Disney Adventure were both delayed.
Disney Cruise Line has yet to announce names for the OLC ship or smaller ships.
