Although the exterior refurbishment of The Haunted Mansion at Magic Kingdom is complete, Disney has filed a new permit for construction at the attraction.

The Notice of Commencement is similar to a permit filed in early February 2025. It calls for “General Construction” from MLC Theming at 1600 Magic Kingdom Dr, the address of The Haunted Mansion.

The document was filed by Disney’s Facility Asset Management rather than Walt Disney Imagineering. FAM usually handles more general maintenance work rather than large-scale re-theming projects, but it’s still curious that this permit comes on the heels of a major exterior refurbishment.

The new permit could be for work related to finishing the refurbishment or for another project entirely, inside or outside the mansion.

It expires in one year on August 28, 2027.
