Disney Files Trademark for 'Disney's Lakeshore Lodge'

Disney filed a trademark for the updated name of their new Disney Vacation Club resort. Until recently, Disney referred to the resort as “Disney Lakeshore Lodge,” but they added a possessive and have trademarked “Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge.”

The trademark filed on August 11 is for “Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge” to be used for “Restaurant services; Resort lodging services; Hotel accommodation services.” The application has yet to be approved.

Disney began using the updated name with the recent release of new Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge concept art. Disney Parks Blog has changed all their posts about the resort to now include the possessive.

The updated name is in line with other Walt Disney World Resort hotel names, which all have a possessive “Disney’s” at the beginning.

The original name for the project was Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge. Though canceled after 2020, Disney ultimately announced Lakeshore Lodge, which retains much of the theming of the original concept.
