Fans of The Princess Diaries can commemorate the classic film’s 25th anniversary with a limited edition Mia Thermopolis doll dressed for the Genovian Independence Day Ball.
Mia Thermopolis Limited Edition Doll – $179.99
The 17-inch collector doll recreates Mia Thermopolis, portrayed by Anne Hathaway, in the white ball gown from the 2001 film’s royal celebration.
Mia’s dark hair is styled in a bun beneath a jeweled tiara. Her white satin gown features an organza overskirt decorated with green vines, pink embroidered flowers, sequins, and gems. She also wears white evening gloves, drop earrings, and molded shoes.
The fully poseable doll holds her black-and-white cat, Fat Louie, who wears a tiny crown and red collar. Mia’s signature round sunglasses are held in her other hand.
The red box resembles Mia’s diary, complete with a faux-leather texture, embossed floral decorations, gold trim, and “Diary” lettering.
A strap crosses the front and ends beneath a gold magnetic clasp bearing a stylized Genovian “G.” The attached necklace locket fits into the lock-shaped opening, recreating the diary’s design from the film.
An envelope matching the marbled interior is attached to the inside of the front flap, with a Princess Diaries 25th anniversary insert visible inside. The set includes a Certificate of Verification and a letter from Mia’s father—a direct film reference, as Mia reads her late father’s letter from the diary during a pivotal scene that helps her embrace her future as Princess of Genovia.
The cover opens to reveal a clear display window. A burgundy-and-gold marbled pattern decorates the inside cover, while an elegant palace interior appears behind the doll. The Princess Diaries 25th anniversary logo is printed across the window.
The back of the box features a description in English, French, and Spanish. It recounts the events of the first film, detailing how Mia discovers—and later embraces—the fact that she is actually Amelia Mignonette Thermopolis Renaldi, Crown Princess of Genovia.
The Mia doll was part of the broader Princess Diaries 25th anniversary collection announced for D23. Disney recently released a slew of other limited collectible dolls, including the Captain Redd doll inspired by Pirates of the Caribbean and the Guest Relations Cast Member doll inspired by Disney Legend Martha Blanding.
We found the limited edition doll at World of Disney in Disney Springs. Its arrival follows Anne Hathaway’s induction as a Disney Legend this past weekend, honoring a Disney career that began with her starring role as Mia in The Princess Diaries.
