Disney is planning to expand their North Service Area Marina docks, coinciding with an expansion of the ferryboat dock at Magic Kingdom.

North Service Area Marina Expansion

Disney filed an application for the “NSA Dock Expansion” project with the South Florida Water Management District. The image above highlights the project limits at the edge of the marina, which is north of Magic Kingdom, off Bay Lake.

The marina is where Disney stores and services watercraft. It’s where the fourth ferryboat is under construction.

The project includes 20-foot floating dock extensions, a new floating dock with three 40-foot fingers, replacement of nine pilings, relocation of four pilings, addition of eight pilings, and dredging along the edge of the marina to a depth of 86.5 feet.

In total, the dock space would expand from 3,400 square feet to 4,800.

The South Florida Water Management District still needs to approve the application for work to move forward.

Construction would not be visible to guests and is not expected to affect boat service.

Crews are working on expanding the Magic Kingdom ferryboat dock, a construction project that is affecting watercraft resort service. With several major attractions coming to the park with the openings of Piston Peak and Villains Land, the extra transportation options will be necessary.
