Disneyland Resort recently revised its concept art for the DisneylandForward expansion project. The change affects the design for the new Eastern Gateway pedestrian walkway that stretches over Harbor Boulevard.
DisneylandForward Concept Art Revised
In the previous concept art, the pedestrian walkway was open-air with colorful walls, tall trees, and pink lighting.
But in the new concept art, the pedestrian walkway is now covered with a gray roof. There are also openings along the walkway for guests to look out of while crossing.
Disney has not officially announced a reason for the change to the concept art, but the new covered walkway will likely make it more comfortable for pedestrians to walk to and from the parks during inclement weather.

The DisneylandForward expansion project prepares for an influx of visitors as Disney adds several attractions and experiences to Disneyland Resort. Two new rides are coming to Avengers Campus, a Coco ride will be added to Pixar Pier, Tomorrowland is being reimagined, and an Avatar land is still in the works.
Recently, Disney officially broke ground on the parking structure, transportation hub, and the pedestrian bridge that are part of the DisneylandForward expansion project.
The pedestrian bridge will connect the esplanade to the new parking structure at the current site of the Manchester Cast Member parking lot. There will be approximately 6,000 parking spaces, 302 EV charging spaces, a dedicated area for shuttles and ridesharing, security, and dedicated access for traffic off Disney Way.
Disneyland Resort is also demolishing ticket booths to prepare for construction of the pedestrian bridge over Harbor Boulevard.
