The BoardWalk Village Green of Disney’s BoardWalk Inn at Walt Disney World Resort is now open following two and a half weeks of refurbishment for the installation of new astroturf.

This lawn is where families are welcome to relax and play together. “Movies Under the Stars” are also shown on the BoardWalk Green in the evenings.

The new turf can be seen in the large central courtyard that faces Crescent Lake next to the Surrey Bike Rental kiosk.

The new astroturf feels pillow-y, smells fresh, and looks cleaner than before. From what we can see, no other changes have been made to the area.

As we reported in early August, the Village Green courtyard has been closed since August 10, 2026. The old turf was removed within a few days of the closure. We noticed new turf covering the entire green on August 22. Rolling planters blocked access to the green, but we could easily see past the flowerbeds to the new fake grass. 

Other upcoming refurbishments at the resort include the Luna Park Pool, the Luna Park Crazy Play Area, and Leaping Horse Libations, which will be temporarily closed from January 11, 2027, through April 2027. Other pools will be available for use.
