The EPCOT Monorail narration has been overhauled, removing references to canceled attractions and including a snippet of Walt Disney audio.

New EPCOT Monorail Narration

The new narration does not sound like Tom Kane, who passed away earlier this year. His voice has been heard on the Walt Disney World Monorail system since 2012.

The narrator now tells guests “no vaping” on the Monorail. This has also been added to the Express and Resort Monorail lines. The Express line also removed its reference to the Copper Creek Villas.

Now guests heading to EPCOT from the Transportation and Ticket Center will hear Walt Disney’s voice explain what EPCOT stands for: Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow.

The descriptions of the park as guests circle around it are broader. There are descriptions of each neighborhood with no more references to quietly canceled (or indefinitely delayed) projects like the Play pavilion or Mary Poppins ride.

Specific countries are no longer mentioned in the World Showcase section.

When it comes to the Imagination! pavilion, Figment is mentioned but there is no more reference to the Disney and Pixar Short Film Festival. The short films still play at the pavilion and Disney hasn’t announced a closure.

Soarin’ is no longer referred to as Soarin’ Around the World. But it’s not referred to as Soarin’ Across America either, keeping the reference general so Disney doesn’t have to update the narration again.

Regarding The Seas With Nemo & Friends, the focus has shifted from Finding Nemo to the real aquatic animals guests can see.
