Halloween Horror Nights is OFFICIALLY underway at Universal Orlando, and this year’s collection of haunted houses is ready to deliver thrills, chills, and plenty of screams.
Halloween Horror Nights
From shorter waits on select attractions to exclusive menu items, 10 haunted houses, and five scare zones, this separately ticketed after-hours event is packed with thrills around every corner. You KNOW we had to experience EVERYTHING Halloween Horror Nights has to offer, especially the haunted houses! Come inside every house with us to see what you’ll be getting yourself into!
Halloween Horror Nights takes place on select nights from August 28th through November 1st, and the 35th anniversary celebration is pulling out all the stops. Here’s our full breakdown of every haunted house waiting for you this year.
Halloween Horror Nights
Jack & Oddfellow: Chaos & Control
Jack the Clown and his longtime rival, Dr. Oddfellow, take center stage in this haunted house, teaming up to deliver unforgettable scares. According to Universal, guests will “journey into the unsettling origins of the two adversaries’ undying rivalry” throughout the experience.
Inside Jack & Oddfellow
This house is very trippy, and we had a great time with it. Think twisted fun house with strobe lights, illusions, carnival music, and scares. We could see this being a favorite for a lot of guests!
Sinners
Step into the world of the Academy Award-winning film Sinners in this immersive haunted house. Based on the film, the experience transports guests to Club Juke, where twin brothers’ dream of opening a juke joint quickly descends into chaos when vampires invade. Along the way, guests will encounter familiar faces from the film, including Remmick, Bert, Joan, Sammie, Mary, Annie, Pearline, and Cornbread.
Inside Sinners
They actually built the rooms around the music in many cases, which makes sense considering music is such a heavy theme in the movie. Get ready to hear Ludwig’s award-winning score played throughout the house. The house even features the iconic “I Lied to You” scene!
Stranger Things 5
Inspired by the fifth and final season of Stranger Things, this haunted house transports guests to Hawkins as the line between reality and the Upside Down crumbles. Expect to relive unforgettable moments from the series while encountering beloved characters, horrifying monsters, and the sinister Vecna, who lurks around every corner.
Stranger Things 5 house!
This house features a full flowering Demogorgon that is completely robotic, and it was honestly one of the coolest things we saw all night. The largest scene in the house is when Will finds his power and actually breaks the arms and legs of a fully robotic Demogorgon. Stranger Things fans will love this house!
H.R. Bloodengutz Presents: A Halloween Fright-Tacular!
One of Halloween Horror Nights’ fan-favorite icons, H.R. Bloodengutz, is back as one of this year’s hosts. According to Universal, guests can expect “your favorite maître d’macabre” to return to WKNB for a special Halloween scare-athon packed with ghouls, gore, and terrifying surprises.
Inside H.R. Bloodengutz
This is a very unique house, with a lot of fun scenes. If you’re a fan of classic Halloween, then you’ll enjoy this experience. There are also cool transitions before you enter each room.
MADLANDS: Caged Cannibals
As one of the standout scary houses of the night, they waste no time throwing guests into chaos. Universal describes this house as “a defunct zoo” that “is now the deadly domain of warring cannibal factions that have taken their animal instincts to extremes.”
Madlands
This is a heavily 90s-infused punk rock haunted house. Fun fact, this house actually features an original score. It is a little bit of a “stinky” house, so be prepared for that. Also, we thought the scare actors were INCREDIBLE in here!
Cybergoria
This house drops guests into a futuristic world where machines are in charge. Their ultimate goal is to keep you alive forever…even if surviving the process means facing your worst nightmare. Get ready, because this is a gross house.
Cybergoria
The monsters are Fleshbots, as the robots have figured out how to make us immortal. They put us in cryo until they can figure out how they can connect us to their bodies. The scare actors are truly relentless in this house, and they get very close to you. We would probably say this is the best house at HHN this year, and we don’t think we’re alone in that thought.
INVASION: Alien Abduction
A remote homestead becomes ground zero for an alien invasion in this haunted house, as the Grays arrive aboard their ship searching for new victims to experiment on. In this, you’re being abducted, and you do end up on an alien ship. If you’re a fan of aliens, there is definitely no shortage of them in this house.
Alien Invasion
Hellraiser
Inspired by the legendary Hellraiser franchise, this haunted house invites guests to step inside the world of the Cenobites. After opening the infamous Lament Configuration puzzle box, guests will find themselves trapped in a twisted dimension where terrifying horrors lurk around every corner.
Hellraiser
We said Cybergoria was gross, but this house may be the grossest at HHN. Just be warned that you can hear significant moaning, and you’ll even see a butt. It is a static figure, not a real butt, but still. Clive Barker insisted there be the pleasure and pain of Hellraiser with this house…whatever that means. It’s a pretty wild house!
Evil Dead Burn
One of the latest horror films joins this year’s Halloween Horror Nights lineup with a haunted house inspired by its terrifying story. After the Book of the Dead is reopened, guests will find themselves surrounded by bloodthirsty Deadites eager to claim their next victims. As Universal warns, “try not to get possessed by soul-sucking Deadites hell-bent on bloodshed.” They had to make this house from just a script, which is obviously hard. To be honest, this one wasn’t our favorite, but it wasn’t bad.
Evil Dead Burn
Ozzy Osbourne: Prince of Darkness
The Prince of Darkness has officially arrived at Halloween Horror Nights! This haunted house invites guests to “scream through a decaying world where music and mayhem collide,” immersing them in the twisted world of Ozzy Osbourne.
Ozzy Osbourne
There is some wild stuff in this house, including cool nods to Ozzy, a lot of his songs, and niche references. You’ll see a vampire biting the head off a human (referencing Ozzy eating the head off a bat). Our favorite part was probably the sequence where you’re riding on the rails of a crazy train!
