A professional color analyst is facing criticism for filming a promotional social media video at the Rapunzel meet and greet in Magic Kingdom.
Color Countess Controversy

Megan Bentley, a.k.a. The Color Countess, has gone viral on social media for her videos holding up different fabrics to clients, helping them figure out what colors make their features pop based on their skin undertones.
Rapunzel, however, is not a client.
In the video Bentley posted this weekend, she asks her viewers to guess if Rapunzel is a warm or cool undertone, having the character performer hold up two pieces of fabric with warm and cool color palettes. Many have commented that the performer looks uncomfortable.
User @kristinandthemagicalcastle said, “I don’t think Rapunzel wanted her colors, she looks very uncomfortable. I’m all for a character interaction but this is clearly about your business and nothing to do with her. Wrong place, wrong time.”
User @chelella said, “As a former WDW performer I would have HATED it if someone would have done this to me on set.”
Commenters have also pointed out that the performer could get in trouble for being part of a promotional video for a business unaffiliated with Disney.
It’s not clear if Bentley asked the performer, photographer, or character attendant for permission to film or explained what she would be doing. Many guests film character interactions so that would not have been an immediate red flag.
While the character attendant in the room could have told Bentley to stop, it’s possible they were busy helping other guests. Rapunzel meets in Princess Fairytale Hall at Magic Kingdom, alongside Tiana, and several guests are in the room at the same time.
Bentley did not directly mention her paid services in the video or caption so it’s also likely the Cast Members involved did not know Bentley was creating a video for her business page.
