Fake palm trees will be used to bring the Encanto casita to life in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Imagineers have revealed.

What appears real in the parks may not always be real. This is accomplished through multiple avenues, including forced perspective.

Forced perspective is being used to bring the casita to life partially with the perceived visual of an appropriate distance from the guest to the casita.

Palm trees of varying sizes will be installed to accomplish this. Even smaller trees with less color will be put in the distance with the mountains (which were recently spotted at the park) to helps establish forced perspective.

The tallest trees will be placed closest to casita to establish foreground. This is commonly used in the theme parks, like in Pandora at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Tropical Americas

The video also discussed the architecture of the land. It will open in 2027 and will consist of the fictional village of Pueblo Esperanza. There are three attractions:  Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto, Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent, and El Carrusel de los Animalitos.

Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto, which will be housed inside casita, will be focused on the day Antonio received his gift of talking to animals, expanding on the film’s plot with new scenes. It will travel on multiple levels but have no height requirement.
