Martha Blanding herself appeared at Disneyland on Thursday morning for a signing of the brand-new, limited edition doll. The Disneyland supply promptly sold out on the same day, but additional dolls are now being offered to attendees at D23.

The doll wears a vintage VIP Tour Guide costume previously worn by Disneyland Guest Relations Cast Members. Her ensemble includes a red cape over a red jacket and white ruffled blouse, a red-and-blue plaid skirt, red socks, and a blue hat. She also holds a black umbrella and wears a gold “D” pin.

Gold lettering on the display identifies the doll as “Inspired by Martha Blanding.”

The set also includes Mickey Mouse dressed in his signature formal attire. He wears a black jacket, white vest and shirt, red bow tie, and red trousers. Mickey raises one hand in a welcoming gesture beside the Cast Member doll.

Both figures are displayed against an image of Sleeping Beauty Castle. The white box resembles a Guest Relations building, with gold diamond accents, decorative windows, and an orange “Guest Relations Cast Member” sign across the front.

Only 750 sets were produced. The front of the box identifies the set as a limited edition and lists its edition size as “1 of 750.”

A message printed in multiple languages on the back of the box describes the set as a celebration of the wonder of Disney Parks, highlighting how Cast Members and the park’s classic meet-and-greet character experiences transform ordinary guest interactions into extraordinary moments.

Martha Blanding was the first Black woman to be a full-time VIP Tour Guide at Disneyland Resort. She hosted celebrities including Rock Hudson, Cary Grant, Diana Ross, Elton John, Magic Johnson, the Jonas Brothers, and Julie Andrews.

She co-founded PULSE, a Business Employee Resource Group (BERG) for Black cast members and employees. She became Senior Manager of Disneyland Resort merchandise special events and was a founding producer of the Official Disneyana Convention.

She was inducted as a Disney Legend at the 2024 D23: The Ultimate Fan Event and released her memoir Groundbreaking Magic the same year.
