Construction continues to progress on The Glob Theater and clock tower in the new Monstropolis coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Most of the scaffolding has come down, revealing the facade of the clock tower.
Monstropolis Construction Update
Since our last update, scaffolding continues to be removed, revealing more of the clock tower’s appearance.
We now have a clearer look at the red brick facade of the tower. There are also noticeable gaps in the bricks on the four corners of the tower, running all the way down to the base, as well as across the tower in the lower portion.
In concept art shared at D23 this year, the clock tower has green-gray decorative trim and piping across the front and down the sides. This is likely why there are gaps in the brick.
On the rest of The Glob Theater, scaffolding continues to block much of the red brick building from view. We noticed the beige scrim was rolled up too, but we’re not sure if it will stay rolled up or if it was only rolled up because of weather.
Construction continues to progress across from the theater as well on the former Gonzo’s Royal Flush location. Scaffolding blocks much of the building from view, and some of the beige scrim has been rolled up here as well.
The Glob Theater will be part of a new Monstropolis replacing Muppets Courtyard. At D23, Disney shared more details on Harryhausen’s, the restaurant located in the land, and other dining and shopping venues. We also got our first fully rendered look at the load area and launch of the door coaster, and Disney announced Randy Newman created an original song for the attraction.
Monstropolis will open in phases starting in 2027. Read more Monstropolis construction updates here.
