A colorful new sipper inspired by Pixar’s Coco will illuminate Disneyland Resort beginning September 3.
Coco Lantern Sipper
Disney Parks shared a first look at the Coco Lantern Sipper, which resembles a decorative lantern with translucent character artwork on its panels. The previewed panel features Miguel and Héctor surrounded by colorful marigolds and papel picado-style decorations. Along the left edge of the sipper’s inner surface, we can also spot Miguel in his normal, living form.
The lantern has a domed, tiled roof topped by a straw, while floral cutouts decorate its upper and lower borders. A detachable red carrying strap features orange and yellow marigolds alongside the Disney Parks wordmark.
The imagery and lantern design evoke the Land of the Dead and the marigold-lined bridge that connects it to the Land of the Living in Coco. Disney teased the release by inviting guests to “follow the marigolds” to their new favorite sipper.
The Coco Lantern Sipper will be available at the following locations:
- Rancho del Zocalo Restaurante – Disneyland Park
- Ship to Shore Marketplace – Disneyland Park
- Paradise Garden Grill – Disney California Adventure Park
Disney has not yet announced a price or confirmed whether the lantern includes a light-up feature. The sipper will be limited to two per person, per transaction, and no discounts will apply. It will be available for a limited time while supplies last.
