Keeping Disney World rides in tip-top shape takes a lot of work, and sometimes that means attractions need to close to make it happen. Of course, it’s never fun to get to a Disney park and realize one of your favorite rides is closed, which is why we always keep an eye on the refurbishment calendar to know what closures are coming up and when. It can save you a ton of heartache in the long run and help you prepare for your upcoming trip.

Of course, if you don’t want to keep up with the calendar on your own, you can always check DFB! Speaking of which, one of Magic Kingdom’s popular rides is closing in November for refurbishment, and we’ve got all the details you need to know.

Heads up! Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will be closing for refurbishment on November 2nd, according to the Disney World refurbishment calendar. As of now, there is no word on when it might reopen, but we’ll be keeping an eye on the calendar for any updates.

In addition to the closure of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, Tiana’s Bayou General and Critter Co-Op will also be closing on November 2nd. These two gift shops feature Princess and the Frog merchandise along with other general Disney souvenirs.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is a thrilling water ride that took over what once was Splash Mountain. It opened in Disney World on June 28th, 2024, meaning it’s over two years old! This is the first major refurbishment for the ride, and while Disney hasn’t shared any details about what the closure is for, it’s likely for general maintenance.

The ride has had some mishaps with its animatronics pretty much since it opened, so it’s possible that this closure will address some of these issues (we can only hope!).

As far as other ride closures go in Magic Kingdom, the Carousel of Progress is currently closed as Disney works to revamp it.

Each scene of the ride is being completely updated to represent new decades. The first act will be set in the 1960s, starting with the moon landing in 1969. The second act will be in the 1980s, with Sarah showing off her latest kitchen gadgets and appliances. The third act will take us to 1999 on New Year’s Eve (cue Prince song here). A fourth act will show a possible future.
