Parts of the Kidani Village main lobby areas are now closed for refurbishment at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge at Walt Disney World.
While walking through the resort, we noticed that one part of the lobby is closed off with a sign in front of the doors that reads: “Pardon our pixie dust. This entrance is closed for refurbishment.”
Underneath is an arrow pointing guests in the direction of the main lobby and check-in.
Meanwhile, black curtains have been put up in the main lobby to cover construction work. There is also a “Please pardon our pixie dust” sign in front of the curtains. Underneath, it reads: “This area is under refurbishment.”
While the refurbishment is taking place, Johari Treasures has been moved to the Palace Library; this is also where guests can check in to the resort.
The Johari Treasures store is unavailable due to the refurbishment. It is set to reopen on August 29.
It was revealed that the refurbishment was happening back in July, as we previously reported.
The construction will be done in phases and will take place between August and November 2026.
Other areas of the lobby that will be refurbished from now until then include the north and south lobby corridors.
The north lobby is set to close from September 28 to October 9, with the second floor lobby elevators and outdoor terrace observation deck unavailable.
When the south lobby closes from October 26 to November 6, these areas will not be available during that time:
- Community Hall
- The laundry room
- Lobby restrooms
- Outdoor terrace observation deck
- Palace Library
- Safari So Good Arcade
