Halloween has arrived at Disneyland Resort with a new assortment of seasonal food and beverages available now through October 31 (and beyond, in some cases). We tried several of the new items at both theme parks.
Halloween Seasonal Snacks at Disneyland Resort
Disneyland
Jolly Holiday
*NEW* Mickey-shaped Ghost Cookie – $7.99
Shortbread cookie dipped in chocolate (Available Aug. 18 through Oct. 31)

This is a classic shortbread cookie, and we liked the body of the ghost more than the ears. The ears had a bitter after-taste, but the body has a very pleasant vanilla taste. We do wish this came in sealed packaging so we could take it with us.

*NEW* Brownie Pie – $8.49
Fudge brownie baked in a pie crust topped with ganache, colored mousse, and sprinkles (Available Aug. 18 through Nov. 12)

This brownie pie is chocolate overload. The brownie itself did not appear to be cooked, but instead was just a brownie batter. It’s overly sweet, but the buttercream icing was able to redeem this mess. The flaky pie crust is better than the usual graham cracker crusts we usually see with these desserts. The sprinkles did provide a nice texture pop.

*NEW* Mickey Pumpkin Cupcake – $8.49
with cream cheese frosting, brown sugar crumbles, and orange white chocolate mousse finished with chocolate ears and a chocolate twig (Available Aug. 18 through Nov. 12)

This is literally a cake in a cup. The cheese cream is very sweet, but very rich and wonderful. We did feel there was a lot of the orange frosting for the size of the dish, but we understand you need all of it to create the pumpkin. Texture-wise, the cake is fantastic. It’s incredibly fresh and moist with autumnal spices. It tastes like fall.
The ears will turn your fingers black due to the dye.

New! Halloween Matterhorn Macaroon – $8.49
Coconut macaroon dipped in white chocolate and sprinkles (Available Aug. 18 through Nov. 12)

We have a Halloween version of the Matterhorn macaroon, but this is a very intense coconut flavor, and has a slight processed chemical taste towards the end. Be aware that there are coconut flakes in these so you will get that gritty texture. The sweet frosting balances the coconut flavor a little. This is for sure a nostalgic treat, and the colors are festive for the Halloween season.

Harbour Galley
*NEW* Brown Butter Maple Cold Brew – $7.99
Joffrey’s Beignet-Flavored Cold Brew with Maple and Brown Butter Syrup, Topped with Brown Butter Cold Foam (Available Aug. 18 through Jan. 6, 2027)

This is well-balanced. The cold brew is rich and smooth. The maple and brown butter flavors both come through. When fully mixed, this is a perfect balances of sweetness and bold coffee flavor. It’s not unique for Disney, though. You could get it at your local coffee shop.

Red Rose Taverne
*NEW* French Toast Cold Brew – $8.49
Cinnamon Brown Sugar Cold Brew with Crème Anglaise Topper and Cinnamon Cereal (Available Aug. 18 through Jan. 6, 2027)

This tastes nearly identical to the beloved Cold Brew Black Caf in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. It’s slightly less tart and has a cinnamon flavor, especially when stirred. It’s a dessert drink, for sure. Don’t get it expecting a regular coffee. But if you like the Black Caf and cinnamon, you’ll love this.

Maurice’s Treats
*NEW* Sea Salt Vanilla Cream – $2.79
with Halloween Sprinkles (Available Aug. 18 through Nov. 12)

We got the cream with the Chocolate Croissant Cookie, which is what the Cast Member recommended. We don’t love these together, though. There’s too much sugar and too much salt. The cream is very salty and has a waxy texture. It might be okay with a churro but it’s not great either way.

Churros near Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters
*NEW* Caramel-Peanut Butter Candy Loaded Dip – $3
topped with chocolate-peanut butter flakes and candy corn (Available Aug. 18 through Nov. 12)

This is one of the grossest things we’ve ever seen in our years of food reporting. It looks like chili but it’s not. The top layer was kind of hard and gelatinous.
But unfortunately, it’s good. We tried it with a standard churro and it added a great gooey peanut butter flavor. The chocolate-peanut butter flakes on top add a nice texture and cut through the more proper peanut butter. The candy corn, however, is unnecessary.
It’s served warm and the hot day we visited was not a good day for it but it would be nice on a windy evening. Plus, there’s enough to share.

Market House
*NEW* Churro Hand Tart – $6.49
Pastry tart filled with spiced cake and topped with cinnamon and sugar (Available Aug. 18 through Jan. 6, 2027)

They can heat this up for you and that made it perfect. It’s essentially a cinnamon crumb cake. It’s crumbly and moist at the same time with crispy edges and a cakey interior. There’s just the right amount of sugar. It’s a great value and could be shared with multiple people.

The Tropical Hideaway
*NEW* Miso Soup – $7.79
Seaweed, Tofu and Green Onion (Available Aug. 18 through Jan. 6, 2027)

This is a very small portion for the price and a struggle to consume. It comes with a coffee cup lid but you couldn’t drink the tofu. And you shouldn’t because it’s grainy, chewy, and awful.
It’s hard to scoop up any of the soup with a spoon because it’s so far down inside the cup. Why did they serve it in a cup? The broth isn’t particularly flavorful, anyway. The seaweed is the best part but doesn’t redeem it in the slightest.
For the colder months, this makes sense, but what does it have to do with Halloween season?
Regardless, it’s one of the worst values of all time and earns our rare 0.

Ship to Shore Marketplace
*NEW* Pinwheels – $6.59
Fried wheat pinwheels served with lemon juice and hot sauce (Available Aug. 18 through Jan. 6, 2027)

We mostly got these as a joke. They’re fine but they’re nothing special. When Disney says they’re “served with” lemon juice and hot sauce, they mean you can get those at the condiment station. The serving is poor for the value.

Disney California Adventure
Smokejumpers Grill
*NEW* Villainous Wings – $8.29
tossed in Sweet & Tangy Gochujang Sauce, drizzled with Ghost Pepper Ranch and topped with Chives (Available Aug. 18 through Nov. 12)

The chicken itself is good quality: juicy, tender, and well-cooked. These are one of the spiciest things we’ve ever had at Disney. We love that but not everyone will. The gochujang sauce is tangy with a bit of heat. Most of the spice is from the ghost pepper ranch. You could potentially ask for that on the side if you want something less spicy.

Cappuccino Cart
*NEW* Mickey-shaped Waffle Macaron – $9.50
Mickey-shaped Macaron filled with Salted Maple Buttercream, Maple Syrup and Chocolate-coated Waffle Pieces (Available Aug. 18 through Jan. 6, 2027)

Presentation alone is a 7 but thankfully it tastes good too. It’s like taking a bite out of a waffle! The maple and butter flavors are prominent. The cookie is the perfect texture and it was fresh. The salted maple butter cream tasted exactly as it should with a good balance of sweet and salty. It has a smooth creamy homemade texture — not artificial. It has the perfect amount of waffle pieces for added crispiness. This is a strong contender for the best Mickey macaron we’ve ever had.

Schmoozies!
*NEW* Pumpkin Pie Mickey Shake – $14.99
Pumpkin Pie and Vanilla Milkshake with Whipped Topping and Golden Creme-filled Cookies (Available Aug. 18 through Nov. 12)

Schmoozies! milkshakes usually have a more profound flavor than this. It’s a nice subtle pumpkin pie flavor and the vanilla comes through too, but we were slightly disappointed it wasn’t more in your face.
Rating out of 7: 5
*NEW* Matcha Mickey-Shaped Waffles – $10.99
filled with Banana Custard (Available Aug. 18 through Nov. 12)

Don’t get these. We’ve had so many better Mickey Waffles at Schmoozies! and were once again disappointed. The banana custard was flavorless, the matcha powder didn’t add anything, and the best part was the whipped cream on the side.

Award Wieners
*NEW* Oktoberfest Dog – $11.99
Pork Cheddar Sausage, Sauerkraut, Caraway Seeds, and Cheesy Beer Mustard Sauce on a Soft Pretzel Bun with Cuties Mandarin Oranges or Fries (Available Aug. 18 through Nov. 12)

This dog is gargantuan. You might have to take a few messy bites to get every topping. The brat is juicy and full of flavor. The sauce brings a creaminess and strong beer cheese flavor. It’s perfectly matched with the onions. The bread is soft and fresh.
The fries are pretty good but not as good as the Filmstrip Fries, which Disney got rid of. That’s the only reason we’re docking a point. Otherwise, this dish is spectacular.

*NEW* Seaborn Sangria – $18
San Diego, CA (ABV 12.0%) served over ice and mixed fruit (Available Aug. 18 through Jan. 6, 2027)

The fruit and liquor are both really strong. It’s super refreshing and drinkable. It’s the best grab-and-go sangria we’ve ever had in a theme park.

Churros near Goofy’s Sky School
*NEW* Caramel Cheesecake Churro – $8
Classic Churro with Caramel Cheesecake Icing, Caramel and Chocolate Drizzle (Available Aug. 18 through Jan. 6, 2027)

This was a very messy churro, and the cheesecake flavor is very strong and almost sour. The caramel and chocolate are nice but aren’t strong enough to overpower the sour cheesecake flavor. We’re not feeling this churro as much as the ube one.

Pym Test Kitchen
*NEW* BBQ Pork Muenster Grilled Cheese – $16.79
BBQ Pork Belly and Muenster on Sourdough with Crispy Onions & Jalapeño Slaw, served with Potato Bites (Experiment No. 1966) (Available Aug. 18 through Nov. 12)

It’s a messy dish, but pretty good. The sourdough bread has an excellent golden toast, and the BBQ sauce was actually quite spicy with a tangy kick to it. It’s hit-or-miss whether you’ll get a fatty piece of pork. The dish was elevated for us when we added the jalapeño slaw to the sandwich. We would definitely eat this again, just on a cooler day.

*NEW* Strawberry Matcha Latte – $7.99
Matcha with Strawberry Cold Foam, topped with Strawberry Sugar Wafers and Strawberry Condensed Milk Drizzle (Available Aug. 18 through Jan. 6, 2027)

The strawberry sugar wafers on top were a bite of artificial nostalgia. This drink tasted more like the real earthy matcha flavor without being bitter or grassy. You do want to stir this drink, though, to get the strawberry condensed milk flavor to come through. The sweetness of the condensed milk takes the edge off the matcha flavor. This is a must-get this year.
Rating out of 7: 7
*NEW* Strawberry Matcha Rum Cocktail – $19.50
White Rum and Matcha with Strawberry Cold Foam, topped with Strawberry Sugar Wafers and Strawberry Condensed Milk Drizzle, served in a Particle Beaker (Available Aug. 18 through Jan. 6, 2027)

Compared to the latte, the sugar wafers are solid on top, so you don’t get a crumble. The rum is good and smooth, and very forward at first. But once you mix the drink, the rum tamped down the strawberry condensed milk flavor, so you’re just left with matcha. This drink was too expensive for what it ended up being, and we thought the latte was better.

Terran Treats
Ube Cheesecake Churro – $8
Churro Rolled in Chocolate Cookie Sugar with Ube Cheesecake Whipped Topping and Chocolate Cookie Crumbles (Available Aug. 18 through Oct. 31)

This churro was hot, soft, and fresh with a nice crunch on the outside. The fine-grained chocolate sugar doesn’t take away from the texture of the churro. The ube cheesecake was also warm and creamy with a hint of ube, but it can be drowned out by the chocolate sugar. This churro leans more on the cookie side of a cookies ‘n’ cream flavor.

Outdoor Vending Carts
*NEW* Buffalo Chicken Pull-Apart Bread – $11.75
with Cream Cheese, Parmesan Ranch, and Fried Onions (Available Aug. 18 through Nov. 12)

We could make this at home with some Publix buffalo chicken dip and rolls. But it’s not bad. The rolls are soft and fresh. The cream cheese adds a sweetness. It’s warm and shareable. We would appreciate if the onions were crispy since everything else is soft and it doesn’t feel very creative, but we liked it.
Rating out of 7: 6
Oogie Boogie Cookie – $8.50
(Available Aug. 18 through Oct. 31)

This is only slightly improved from last year. It wasn’t stale, although that will depend on when you get the cookie. The flavors are fine. The icing is sweet and the cookie has a basic chocolate flavor. But the texture is chalky and chewy.
Presentation-wise with the green icing, black outlines, and buggy sprinkles (added since last year), this is a 7/7. Kids will enjoy it, but otherwise we don’t recommend eating it.

Cozy Cone Motel
New! Vietnamese Coffee with Ube Sweet Cream Foam – $7.99
Iced Vietnamese coffee with ube sweet cream foam topped with black sprinkles (Non-alcoholic)

You have to stir the drink to mix the flavors all up. Once stirred, you get a great balance of sweet mocha coffee and ube. The after-taste reminds us of black coffee.
Rating out of 7: 6
New! Cursed Ube Foam Iced Coffee – $17
Iced Vietnamese coffee with Baileys Irish Cream topped with ube sweet cream foam and black sprinkles

We also got the alcoholic version of the coffee, and it was a lot harder to stir this one because of the Baileys. The Baileys cannibalizes a little bit of the other flavors, but, there is a hint of the ube and a hint of that coffee. The flavors all blend together really well. This is the kind of drink where you will get a different flavor with each sip.

*NEW* Haunted Highway Cocktail – $20
Tequila, Pineapple Lemonade with Blue Curaçao, Apple Liqueur, and Sprite, topped with Grenadine and Gummy Worms

At first this drink tasted like a light and refreshing popsicle. It was reminiscent of those Fla-vor-ice freezer pops in the long plastic tubes of our childhoods.
Then as the gummy worms started to dissolve it overpowered the rest of the cocktail and the flavor intensified—akin to a sweet tart. In that case, some may end up finding this too sticky or syrupy but it could be a winner if you like these specific flavors.
This drink is exclusive to Oogie Boogie Bash.
