During our latest visit to Disneyland Resort, we noticed exterior work occurring outside the Salt & Straw and WonderGround Gallery locations in Downtown Disney.

Salt & Straw Refurbishment

Construction walls featuring colorful blocks of red, orange, green, blue, and purple panels have been installed around the entrance to Salt & Straw, partially obscuring the entrance to WonderGround Gallery as well.

Notably, the awnings have been removed for both locations, exposing the wood and metal structural support. We suspect the awnings are being replaced in addition to other exterior work around the structure.

Turning the corner, the entire left side of the Salt & Straw building has been covered with beige scrim atop more colorful construction walls. Entrances and exits for the building remain open to guest access as both Salt & Straw and WonderGround Gallery remain open and operational at the time of this writing.

The awnings were a solid black fabric and supported by wood beams. WonderGround Gallery historically featured the same black awnings. Disney has not officially announced a reason or timeline for the refurbishment.
