Scaffolding now extends all the way to the top of the front side of The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at Disney’s Hollywood Studios for an exterior refurbishment.
Tower of Terror Refurbishment

Crews began installing scaffolding on the far right of the facade above the gift shop in early July. When we last checked in, the whole wall above the gift shop was covered, as was much of the facade below “The Hollywood Tower Hotel” sign.
Now there is scaffolding above the sign as well.

There are gaps in the scaffolding for the ride’s windows, so guest views during the attraction are not obscured. The ride continues to operate as normal.

Early this month, crews began repainting parts of the facade above the gift shop. The two decorative friezes on the center roof have a fresh coat of pink paint on their borders. There is primer on several of the railings and balconies.

The wall of this tower behind scaffolding has a new coat of pink paint. The red sections are protective plastic taped to openings in the wall.

There are still beige scrims covering several elements of the facade lower down, closer to the gift shop entrance.
