Scaffolding is gone from the clocktower and main entrance facade of the Glob Theater — the former MuppetVision 3D theater — in Monstropolis at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Brickwork was updated and painted before scaffolding began coming down earlier this month. Now the clocktower is completely visible but work isn’t complete. Gaps in the bricks on the sides and near the base are where themed elements will eventually be installed.
Above is a before and after of the clocktower. Other than the obvious removal of the Gonzo figure, the clocktower’s fake window shutters, a wooden post, and beige trim were also removed, necessitating the refresh of brickwork. The cornice around the top was altered, too.
Above the theater’s main entrance, large metal posts stick out of the brick wall. The brickwork appears splotchy but paint may have still been drying when we took these photographs. Much of the brickwork will also be covered by a new marquee, which will attach to the posts.
There is still some scaffolding in front of the building’s entrance and on the far wall.
This concept art shows what the finished theater is supposed to look like. The clock will be surrounded by an eye element. A banner will hang below. And the tower will have gutters running down the sides.
The marquee will advertise the theater’s new show: Welcome to Monstropolis! With Sulley & Mike.
On the side of the building closest to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, brickwork has various color schemes. These may have been tests before painting of the clocktower and entrance facade. We expect these walls to be repainted soon.
The only other notable change we saw in Monstropolis this weekend was the addition of a gold-brown element to the restrooms building, which was formerly themed to Gonzo’s Royal Flush. This element sits near the roof of the building on the edge facing the Glob.
