Seth MacFarlane Sings The Muppets
On September 18, MacFarlane will release Seth MacFarlane Sings The Muppets. It includes 14 tracks from three Muppet movies: The Muppet Movie, The Great Muppet Caper and The Muppets Take Manhattan. Television shows Sesame Street and The Muppet Show will also be included.
The description reads:
“Seth MacFarlane shines a spotlight on one of the most beloved and enduring songbooks in popular culture with Seth MacFarlane Sings The Muppets. The 14-track album draws from the rich musical legacy of Jim Henson’s creations, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of The Muppet Show. The album’s selections come from the first three Muppet feature films—The Muppet Movie, The Great Muppet Caper, and The Muppets Take Manhattan—while favorites from Sesame Street and The Muppet Show round out the program. From graceful waltzes and wistful ballads to exuberant Broadway showstoppers, MacFarlane makes each selection his own while preserving the spirit that has made these songs resonate across generations.
This album features songs by acclaimed writers including Joe Raposo, Paul Williams, and Jeff Moss, spectacular arrangements by Andrew Cottee, and is conducted by John Wilson. Both a heartfelt tribute and a fresh musical interpretation, the album celebrates the wit, emotion, and extraordinary craftsmanship that have made the music of the Muppets so enduring.
