‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Earns $355M in Second-Biggest Domestic Box Office Debut Ever

'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' Earns 5M in Second-Biggest Domestic Box Office Debut Ever

Spider-Man: Brand New Day nearly dethroned Avengers: Endgame with one of the largest domestic box office debuts in history.

Spider-Man’s Brand New Record

According to Variety, the Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios film earned an estimated $355 million from theaters in the United States and Canada during its opening weekend.

The result gives Brand New Day the second-biggest domestic opening weekend of all time, finishing just behind the $357 million record set by Avengers: Endgame in 2019. It may just eclipse the Endgame record if the final tally on Monday comes out higher than the weekend estimate.

The latest Spider-Man adventure easily surpassed the $260 million opening of Spider-Man: No Way Home, which previously held second place on the all-time domestic chart. No Way Home ultimately earned more than $1.9 billion worldwide following its release in 2021.

The film also earned a record $72 million from preview screenings. The total surpassed the $60 million preview record previously held by Avengers: Endgame.

The performance also gives Brand New Day the biggest domestic opening of 2026, overtaking the approximately $160 million domestic debut of Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story 5. The film entered theaters with strong reviews and audience reception, including an “A” CinemaScore.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day continues Peter Parker’s story after Doctor Strange’s spell caused the world to forget his identity at the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home. Tom Holland returns alongside Zendaya as MJ and Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is now playing exclusively in theaters.
