Peter Parker’s latest adventure continues to climb the all-time box office charts even as competing films roll into theaters.

According to Variety, the Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios film earned another $39 million during its fourth weekend in theaters.

The superhero sequel has now generated $855 million domestically and $2.22 billion worldwide. It is only the fourth film to surpass $800 million in North America and currently ranks as the third-highest-grossing domestic release in history.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is close to passing Avengers: Endgame, which earned $858 million domestically. The standing all-time record belongs to Star Wars: The Force Awakens with $936 million.

Its ongoing success around the world also opens up the possibility that Spider-Man: Brand New Day could become the first film to cross $3 billion worldwide.

The film currently ranks as the third-highest-grossing worldwide release in history, according to Variety. It trails Avatar with $2.9 billion and Avengers: Endgame with $2.7 billion.

Insidious: Out of the Further was Spider-Man’s closest competition this past weekend, debuting in second place with $25.3 million from 3,303 theaters. Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey followed with $19.5 million during its sixth weekend, bringing its worldwide total to $1.44 billion.

Other new releases failed to threaten Brand New Day. The Jason Statham action thriller Mutiny opened with $7.5 million, while the comedy Spa Weekend debuted with $3.05 million.
