Test Track-themed solar-powered trash and recycling cans have been spotted near the attraction in EPCOT, continuing Disney’s rollout of the updated bins.

Test Track Solar-Powered Trash Cans

The paired units have silver fronts with black “TRASH” and “RECYCLE” openings, plus blue side panels decorated with a geometric hexagon pattern and yellow racing-style stripes. Foot pedals at the bottom open the compartments so guests can dispose of their trash hands-free.

The new cans match the solar-powered design Disney has been installing across EPCOT since June. Solar panels built into the rounded tops power compactors inside, allowing the bins to hold more waste before they need to be emptied. The small handles on the front are for Cast Members to access the interior.

WDWNT first covered the debut of the solar-powered trash and recycling bins at EPCOT near World Showcase. The rollout later reached more of World Showcase, including the Japan and Italy pavilions. Earlier this month, Disney also installed them in The Seas, The Land, and Soarin’ areas of the park, along with World Celebration.

During this rollout, we have witnessed confusion among guests around how to use the new trash cans. Disney has even recently released an instructional video on how to use them.
