The Devil Wears Prada 2 found fashionable success on streaming, ranking as the most-watched movie in the United States in the days following its debut in July.
‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ Tops Streaming Charts

According to Nielsen’s Streaming Content Ratings, the Disney sequel accumulated approximately 885 million viewing minutes across Disney+ and Hulu between July 27 and August 2, a figure made all the more impressive by the fact that it debuted two days into that week on July 29.
It surpassed The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, which placed second with 777 million minutes on Peacock, and Netflix’s 72 Hours, which ranked third with 734 million minutes.
The Devil Wears Prada 2 also finished third on Nielsen’s overall streaming chart, which includes series and movies. Only The Big Bang Theory and Bluey generated more viewing time during the week.
Nielsen’s figures represent estimated U.S. streaming consumption among viewers aged 2 and older watching through television sets. The company releases its streaming rankings weekly, typically with a delay of approximately four weeks.
The film, which premiered on May 1, 2026, was directed by David Frankel and written by
Lauren Weisberger and Aline Brosh McKenna, all of whom worked on the first film in the series. Its star-studded cast includes Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Stanley Tucci, and Emily Blunt returning as their original characters, as well as new characters played by Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, and Kenneth Branagh.

The sequel follows Miranda as she navigates the decline of print media and faces competition from her former assistant, Emily, who has become an influential executive in the luxury fashion industry.
Audiences welcomed the sequel, and it was considered a huge success, making $692.7 million at the box office and becoming the sixth highest-grossing film of the year.
Nielsen’s latest ranking also shows that Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: No Way Home, both also on Disney+, ranked seventh and eighth in the top ten streaming films in the country for the same period.
These ratings follow the incredible success of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, by Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios. As we recently reported, following its July 31, 2026 release, the new Spider-Man film has grossed $855 million domestically and more than $2.22 billion worldwide.
