This Disney World hotel stands out for its restaurant offerings, so we decided to test it out for you!

There’s a specific kind of stress that comes with planning meals at Disney World. Breakfast has to be fast enough that it doesn’t eat into rope drop. Lunch has to fit wherever you happen to be standing when your stomach starts making decisions for you. And dinner? Dinner needs to feel like an event, or at least like you didn’t just shove down a hot dog.

So we did something a little different. Instead of bouncing between resorts trying to piece together the “perfect” day of eating, we stayed in one place: Disney’s Swan and Dolphin Resort. And it turns out, this hotel has breakfast, lunch, and dinner completely figured out. We tested a restaurant for each meal, and every single one delivered in its own way.Here’s exactly what we ordered, and why this resort might be the most underrated all-day dining destination on Disney property.

Breakfast: Java at Swan

Mornings at Disney World are chaotic enough without adding a long breakfast wait into the mix, which is exactly why Java at Swan works so well. It’s a walk-up, grab-and-go counter, but it punches way above its weight for what is essentially a hotel pit stop. Beyond the food and coffee menu, the fridge case is stocked with bottled and canned wine, beer, soda, sports drinks, and water, and there’s even a small selection of basic medications like Advil and Benadryl tucked in for guests who need it. The line moves fast, and the staff keeps things friendly and efficient, which is exactly the energy you want before a day in the parks.

We started with the C3 Dark Roast Coffee and Collagen for $6.50, and honestly, it was a pleasant surprise. It’s smooth with none of that burnt, bitter aftertaste dark roast coffee can sometimes have, and there’s a full customization station with syrup options, milk choices (including oat and almond), sugar, and creamers so you can make it exactly how you like it.

Next up was The Standard for $12.00, a breakfast sandwich that doesn’t exactly have the most exciting name on the menu but delivers anyway. It comes on a soft, buttery croissant roll with fresh-tasting bacon and egg. The egg has that familiar, rounded fast-food-style patty, and the bacon leans soft rather than crispy, so crunchy bacon purists should know what they’re getting into. The real star is the pepper jack cheese, which adds a small but noticeable kick that keeps the sandwich from feeling forgettable.

And of course, we had to try the Mickey Waffles for $7.50. Dusted in cinnamon powdered sugar and served with maple syrup, they have that little bit of extra magic that makes them feel more special than a standard waffle. They ran a touch dry even with syrup, so don’t be shy about asking for extra, and they’re better enjoyed at a table rather than on the move. But scoring Mickey Waffles from a walk-up window is a novelty worth the minor logistics.

The verdict: Java at Swan is a convenient, well-stocked breakfast option that overdelivers for a resort walk-up spot. The coffee alone is worth a repeat visit, and the food menu backs it up.

Lunch: The Fountain at the Dolphin

If Beaches & Cream is the reservation everyone fights over, The Fountain at the Walt Disney World Dolphin Resort is the laid-back alternative that deserves way more attention than it gets. It’s a casual diner-style spot serving burgers, sandwiches, salads, fries, tots, and a serious lineup of ice cream, shakes, malts, and floats. It has that same comfort-food-meets-soda-fountain energy that makes Beaches & Cream so beloved, minus the reservation gymnastics, and it’s a short walk or Friendship boat ride from EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, the BoardWalk, Yacht Club, and Beach Club.

The menu covers a lot of ground. There’s a Fountain Smash Burger made with certified Angus beef, griddled onions, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, and a locally baked bun, plus a 12-inch hot dog called The “Footer,” a Reuben, a crispy fried chicken sandwich, a flounder sandwich, a grilled cheese and tomato soup combo, and a Hot Italian Beef Sandwich. Sides include fries, tots, onion rings, tomato soup, chili, and coleslaw, and for anyone trying to keep things lighter, there’s a Little Gem Caesar, a Buffalo Chicken Wedge, and a Sustainable Salmon & Kimchi salad.

For our appetizer we decided to grab the Pretzel and Cheese Dip for $14 which was MASSIVE! We loved that it was crispy on the outside and still soft on the inside, and it was perfectly salted. 

Our first main course of the night was the Burnt Ends & Pimento Melt for $20, and just like everything else we’d had so far, it was tasty! While burnt ends are traditionally beef brisket, this sandwich was made with turkey “burnt ends”. The pickled red onion added a bit of a sweet flavor, which we didn’t mind.

Our second entree was actually our favorite choice out of them both — the Fountain Smash Burger for $21! The cheese was amazingly melted here and the bun was nice and soft while also tasting like a true smash burger — the patty tasted hand-pressed and fresh, not like a pre-shaped patty just thrown onto the stovetop. The veggies were delicious on here as well, but what really sold the burger overall was the patty and the way the cheese was entirely melted over it.

But the real draw here is the milkshake menu, which does not play around. We decided to go for the Banana Pudding Milkshake for $15 and it was incredible! The banana pudding was so cute, and we loved the chunks of banana and vanilla wafer pieces at the very top of the shake. The base itself was so smooth and creamy, and while we did taste a little bit of artificial banana flavor here, but it wasn’t too strong at all. 

The verdict: If you want a more laid-back table service meal that won’t be a massive struggle to get a reservation for, this spot is for you. It’s a genuinely great lunch in its own right, with a burger-and-shake combo that holds its own and a location that makes it easy to fold into an EPCOT or Hollywood Studios day.

Dinner: Kimonos

For dinner, we went to Kimonos, a sushi bar and lounge at Disney’s Swan and Dolphin Resorts that feels less like hotel dining and more like a trendy night out. The atmosphere is lively and modern, with a sleek dining room, an open sushi bar where you can watch your order being prepared, warm lighting, and traditional kimono dresses displayed throughout the space. As the night goes on, it often shifts into a buzzing lounge scene with live music, DJ sets, and even karaoke, making it a solid pick for a night that stretches past typical theme park hours.

The menu blends traditional Japanese staples with creative twists, including signature rolls like the Dragon Roll, Lollipop Roll, and Kimonos Roll, alongside nigiri, sashimi, tempura, gyoza, seared tuna, and wagyu beef skewers, plus soups, salads, small plates, and specialty cocktails.

We started with the Raspberry Sake Sangria for $16, made with sake, Kenwood Merlot, pomegranate, raspberry, and triple sec. It opens with a bright, fruity sangria flavor before finishing with a distinct sake edge, landing somewhere between a wine-based sangria and a sake cocktail.

To eat, the Miso Soup for $8 was a genuine standout, with a comforting, savory broth that felt balanced rather than overly earthy, and it held up well even as it cooled. The Wagyu Beef Skewers for $21, served with clamshell mushrooms, scallions, and a miso-mustard sauce, were one of the best bites of the meal: tender, juicy beef paired with a sauce that had a creamy, aioli-like start and a sharp mustard finish. The portion runs a little small for the price, but the quality justifies it.

The Dragon Roll for $21, made with crispy giant shrimp, avocado, cream cheese, and eel sauce, may be some of the best sushi on all of Disney property. It’s creamy, beautifully presented, and easy to eat even for guests who don’t usually order sushi, with the only minor knock being the texture of the shrimp tails.

For dessert, the newer White Chocolate Mousse Sphere for $14 was a highlight: a ginger-lime chiffon cake wrapped around a mango and pineapple compote, encased in sesame seed mousse and white chocolate, and finished with toasted sesame seeds and a mango-pineapple sauce. It’s light enough to work as a palate cleanser even after a filling meal. The table was also treated to complimentary Mochi for $6 in vanilla and chocolate, a sweet, chewy send-off to end the night.

Kimonos does run on the pricier side, the menu leans niche if you’re dining with picky eaters, and it’s a bit removed from in-park dining, so it takes some planning. But for a memorable, elevated dinner that still feels approachable, it delivers.

The verdict: Kimonos might be the most underrated dinner spot on Disney property, especially for sushi lovers who’ve been settling for theme park quick-service rolls.
