When we’re at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, there’s one place we can always count on for a fun show, no line, and ice-cold air conditioning: Vacation Fun – An Original Animated Short with Mickey & Minnie.
But Disney just put a wrench in our plans because Vacation Fun – An Original Animated Short with Mickey & Minnie is closing for the second time this year!
Vacation Fun – An Original Animated Short with Mickey & Minnie is closing on Sunday, August 9th, with no set reopening date announced. This is the second time this year that the show has closed following a closure on April 29th for a special May 4th Star Wars merchandise event.
While the short isn’t showing, the Mickey Shorts Theater will be used for Annual Passholder Magnet distribution. This magnet’s theme is Kermit the Frog, which will be available from August 11th to September 24th, from park opening to park close, while supplies last. Every Annual Passholder can get one magnet and must show a valid Annual Pass and a government-issued photo ID.
If you want a whole Kermit-filled day, you can also take a special PhotoPass Magic Shot with Kermit and a banjo. So maybe Kermit isn’t there in real life, but your photo will tell a different story! It will be near the end of Hollywood Boulevard, close to Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, from 10 AM to 4 PM daily.
And here at Disney Food Blog, we can’t forget about the food! You can grab a Key lime Kermit Milk Shake featuring vanilla ice cream, key lime cake crumbs, key lime sauce, and sprinkles from Dockside Diner. You’ll need to show your Annual Pass when you order, so have it ready to grab.
We’ll be sure to update you on all of the closures and events in Disney World. Stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for more Disney World news!
