There is now scaffolding on the front of The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at Disney’s Hollywood Studios as crews begin a repainting project.
Tower of Terror Scaffolding

Crews began installing scaffolding on the far right of the facade above the gift shop. It was then expanded across that wall. Now, there is scaffolding on the front of the building, extending upwards between the two sets of elevator windows.

There’s wide scaffolding across the bottom of the facade. A tower of scaffolding in the center reaches higher, almost to The Hollywood Tower Hotel sign. For now, Tower of Terror continues to operate as normal. The scaffolding does not block the elevator windows.

Crews have begun work above the gift shop. A pair of decorative friezes on the center roof are now gray and white with primer. It looks like the edge of that roof, as well as the wall of the right balcony, have also been primed.

For comparison, above is a photo from July 7 and another from August 6. The spots that were obviously primed no longer have weathering details.

Behind the scaffolding, pieces of black tarp are taped to decorative windows, apparently protecting them from future paint work. More plastic is visible across the center wall.
A queue refurbishment began in early May. Later that month, flags came down from the gift shop exit and scrim covered some facade details.
