Halloween is starting now! It’s August, which means that Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is on now at Magic Kingdom! We recently attended the party for ourselves and have compiled a few tips to help you make the most of your night!
What is Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party?
Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is a separately ticketed event that takes place each Halloween season in Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World. It offers endless amounts of candy, character encounters, party-exclusive entertainment, nighttime spectaculars, and more. Guests of all ages are encouraged to attend dressed in costume and trick-or-treat for delicious sweets.
When is Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party?
Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party runs on select dates from August 7 through October 31, 2026. Those dates include:
- August 7, 11, 14, 18, 21, 23, 25, 28, and 30
- September 1, 4, 8, 11, 13, 15, 18, 20, 22, 24, 25, and 27
- October 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 9, 13, 15, 16, 18, 22, 23, 25, 27, 29, and 31
In August, parties take place on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. This is also the case for September, but with an extra Thursday date on September 24. In October, parties will be held every Thursday and most Fridays, Sundays, and Tuesdays, and on Saturday, October 31.
Tracker Tip: Guests attending the party will be able to enter Magic Kingdom starting at 4 p.m. before the party begins at 7 p.m. — giving you up to eight hours to enjoy the park without a regular day ticket! You’ll get a wristband at park entry to show that you’re there for the party.
Tickets cost between $119 and $229 each, depending on your date of choice. Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club members are able to save $10 per ticket on event nights from August 7 through October 2.
How does trick-or-treating work?
When you enter Magic Kingdom for the party, you’ll head off to the right toward the Market Street Welcome Path (Main Street bypass) to pick up your complimentary trick-or-treat bag and first piece of candy. On the party map (which you can also collect when you enter the park), more than a dozen candy locations are marked for you to visit. You can also spot them by keeping your eyes peeled for large inflatable pillars featuring M&M characters.
At each stop, Cast Members will hand out handfuls of Mars Wrigley-branded candy, like M&Ms, Starburst, and Snickers. The treat locations are marked with orange Jack-o’-lantern bucket symbols on the party map.
Tracker Tip: You don’t have to be in costume to get candy! You also might run into special characters while exploring the treat trails. Take a look at the costume policy for Walt Disney World to know before you go.
What if I have food allergies? Can I still trick or treat?
Yes, you can! If you have any food allergies, you can request a special teal-colored trick-or-treat bag and collect sweets at specific allergy-friendly centers, located at the Liberty Square Ticket Office and Merchant of Venus. They’re open from 7 p.m. to midnight on party nights. You can also get Smarties in the regular trick-or-treat lines so you don’t feel left out.
Is there any party-exclusive food?
Several Magic Kingdom dining locations are offering party-exclusive food to enjoy during the event! We specifically ate at two restaurants during the party we attended: Sleepy Hollow Refreshments in Liberty Square and Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe in Tomorrowland.
At Sleepy Hollow, we ordered the Doom Buggy Dumplings (chicken dumplings with red miso gochujang sauce, furikake, and chili threads), the Graveyard Hot Chicken and Waffle (Nashville hot chicken strips, blue cornmeal waffle, and pickle ranch), and the Hatbox Ghost Pop (chocolate crumbs layered with chocolate mousse and dulce de leche topped with blue crispy pearls and a chocolate piece).
The dumplings didn’t taste like anything special and are very much like what you’d get in the frozen section of the grocery store. It’s a medium spice level, but they could be a bit too spicy if you’re not into spice.
While we were most excited for the pickle ranch, we didn’t taste it on our waffle. If you’re not ready for the spice, it’ll catch you off guard! Our lips were burning! The waffle offers a nice sweet corn flavor to cut the spice.
The Hatbox Ghost Pop was a little confusing, as we were expecting more cake than mousse. Caramel isn’t our favorite flavor, and there’s a lot of it here. The ghosts can keep this one, we won’t be ordering it again.
Over at Cosmic Ray’s, we picked up the highly-recommended Fang-tastic Garlic Butter Burger (Angus beef with Boursin and brie fondue, crispy onions, and garlic pickles on a toasted black bun served with French fries) and the Oogy Boogie Slushy (frozen apple cider topped with cinnamon whipped cream and sour gummy candy).
We heard a lot of hype for this burger, and we’re pleased to report it did not disappoint! The flavor reminded us of a nostalgic childhood dish, almost like country-fried steak or meatloaf. We wish they would have this burger all the time!
The Oogie Boogie Slushy tastes more like a sour apple slush than a frozen apple cider, but was still good. We were big fans of the sour gummy worms on top!
Tracker Tip: We also got an allergy-friendly grilled chicken salad with balsamic vinaigrette, so take this as your sign to ask if you need an accommodation for your meal!
What entertainment can I expect to see?
One of the highlights of the Halloween parties each year is the entertainment. From dance parties throughout the park to a nighttime parade you won’t want to miss, a stage show, character encounters, fireworks, and more.
Tracker Tip: Before 8 p.m. on party nights, you can walk down the Market Street Welcome Path to encounter characters from The Haunted Mansion, including Blair the “Social Media Coordinator”, Miss Carlotta, and the gravediggers from Mickey’s Boo to You Halloween Parade.

You can also catch Disney’s Not So Spooky Spectacular featuring a giant Jack Skellington puppet, which includes fireworks and castle projections, and is performed at 10 p.m. on party nights.
