Ethan, a concept artist at Walt Disney Imagineering, is teaching viewers how to draw a Monstropolis squirrel. It will be part of the land coming to Walt Disney World in 2027.

Drawing a Monstropolis Squirrel

In a video posted on Walt Disney Imagineering’s Instagram, Ethan gives viewers a sneak peek of a squirrel that could be found in Monstropolis, a new land coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios in 2027. We’ve already seen the maquette of the animal at D23 this past weekend.

One step at a time, Disney fans at home can draw their very own monster squirrel by using his step-by-step instructions.

First, make two large circles for the head and the body, then make two shapes on the sides of the body to create legs. Next, draw arms on the body along with some claws. After that, make sure to leave room for the squirrel’s three bushy tails. For the face, draw three eyes, a nose, and a mouth. Also, don’t forget about the two tiny horns on top of the head.

Ethan then drew a nut that’s placed in the squirrel’s hand.

The final step was to add color. Ethan used different shades of brown for the squirrel, and the nut was colored in blue and green.

“Coloring it, I think, is the final seal for the monsters and the Monsters world, because they all have very different color palettes and color schemes, and that kind of gives them their iconic designs,” Ethan said.
