Prolific Disney voice actor Jim Cummings has spoken out about being snubbed for the Disney Legends honor.

Jim Cummings reshared multiple stories from fans criticizing Disney for not recognizing him as a Disney Legend to his Instagram.
Several fans noted how much work Cummings has done for Disney:
“The fact that Jim Cummings hasn’t received a Disney Legends Award is an absolute travesty. What’s it gonna take? He’s voiced so many iconic characters that have defined generations of Disney (and non-Disney) fans!
Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Pete from Mickey Mouse, Darkwing Duck, Ray the lightning Bug, Taz, and honestly a million other voices that you would recognize. When you get a moment, look up his life’s work. Just absolutely unmatched!
GIVE THIS MAN AN AWARD.
Are you kidding they still have not put one of the greatest Disney legends of all time that is @jimjcummings who is the iconic that is Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Pete, Darkwing Duck, Ray the Firefly and so many more this is unbelievable.
Another fan expressed their disapproval for the actors in this year’s Class of Disney Legends:
The fact that The Rock, Bob Iger, Jonas Brothers, and 🤢Lin Manuel Miranda get this before @jimjcummings is still baffling to me… Come on @disney
As noted by these users, Jim Cummings has voiced hundreds of characters for Disney, from Winnie the Pooh and Tigger, Darkwing Duck, Pete, Ray the firefly, Hondo Ohnaka, Ed the hyena in The Lion King, and so many more. Cummings can even be heard filling in for Jeremy Irons near the end of “Be Prepared” when Irons was unable to finish the recording after losing his voice. He has been a staple in Disney’s vocal canon for decades.
A Disney fan launched a petition in April after the 2026 Class of Disney Legends was announced and Jim Cummings was once again not named.

The 2026 class of Disney Legends were inducted at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event the past weekend. The ceremony, hosted by Ryan Seacrest, was also available to watch on Disney+.

- Kim Irvine, Imagineering (Disneyland designer and voice of Leota for Haunted Mansion Holiday)
- Dwayne Johnson, Film & Voice (Moana, Jungle Cruise, Zootopia 2)
- Jonas Brothers, Television & Music (Camp Rock among more Disney films and albums)
- Lin-Manuel Miranda, Film & Music (Hamilton, Moana, Encanto)
- Alan Tudyk, Film & Voice (Wreck-It Ralph, Moana, Frozen, Encanto, Zootopia, Rogue One, Andor)
