A new video from Walt Disney Imagineering goes behind-the-scenes of the creation of a mysterious model that will be revealed at D23.

ASMR Model Making with Imagineering

Matthew, Associate of Dimensional Design, leads the ASMR video, which includes cutting and scraping foam, drilling a wood frame, and placing tiny fake trees.

The video may be teasing a park model that will be unveiled at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event August 14 – 16. Model reveals usually follow the Disney Experiences showcase where big theme park projects are announced. The showcase, hosted by Neil Patrick Harris, will be on August 15.

There’s no wide view of the secret model so the only hint to what it represents are the trees. A model of the Tropical Americas land coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom was revealed at D23 2024, so we can assume that’s not the subject of this model.

It could be for the Avatar land coming to Disneyland, but the coniferous trees don’t seem to match the land’s concept. Other options include Monstropolis at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Piston Peak National Park at Magic Kingdom, or Disney Villains Land at Magic Kingdom.

The model could also be for a single attraction and its surrounding area, like the Coco ride under construction at Disney California Adventure.
