Monday, September 14, is the last day for guests to enjoy Aquatopia, a water ride at Tokyo DisneySEA. In the days leading up to its closure, it presented a “Get Soaked” version of the ride.

Aquatopia Closure

The attraction—which is located in the Port Discovery area of the park—opened on July 2 and will close permanently starting September 15. The three-person watercraft travels around the experimental pool, and this is no typical course. You’ll spin around and twirl off in unpredictable directions.

In an Instagram post, many Cast Members stood in front of the attraction to wave goodbye. The caption read:

Amaranth, a marine from the future beyond time and space, has brought smiles to many faces for 25 years at Port Discovery.

Today, the public viewing period for festival guests comes to an end.

The scientists and staff at Port Discovery are looking forward to spending the day with everyone, smiling together.

Expansion Plans

Back in 2025, The Oriental Land Company announced that they are considering expansion plans for Tokyo DisneySEA and specifically the Port Discovery area that would be completed in the next 10 years.

Walt Disney Imagineering concept art showed Port Discovery at the park, minus the opening day attraction, Aquatopia. In the rendering, the Tokyo DisneySea Electric Railway, Tokyo DisneySea Transit Steamer, and Nemo & Friends SeaRider attractions are all visible, confirming that this is that port in the park.
